Sixth Form Success
See what our past students say:
"Chase High has been a major part of my life having attended from Year 7 all the way through Sixth Form. It has given me the opportunity to grow as an individual, build my confidence and make life long friendship groups. We were taught with the idea that target grades were not just something to be met but in fact going beyond what is required and exceeding it. The teachers have immense faith in their students as one teacher liked to call us the 'crème de la crème.' Additionally, the Sixth Form has helped me to open my mind as I dismissed the prospect of going to university completely when I first enrolled. However, with the support and encouragement from teachers I am now studying Adult Nursing at the University of Essex. I am thoroughly enjoying it and can not wait to be put on work placement this January."
"Being a previous student at Chase, both the students, staff as well as the environment helped me develop a positive attitude towards my studies, life, and above all I discovered more about myself. The teachers at Chase High are very caring and are interested in a student’s well-being. They make sure every class is educational, motivational, inspirational, fun and interactive. I have always felt that I was so lucky to be a student at Chase High Sixth Form and not any other, be it private or public school. Achieving my Level 3 in Business enabled me to gain a placement at Anglia Ruskin to study a degree in Business".
"Coming into this academic year I felt deeply frustrated from my previous experience in further education at local grammar sixth form. Within a week of starting last September I felt fully embraced by not only students of my age and similar academic position but everyone across year 12 and 13. The sixth form staff demonstrated incredible professionalism and organisation in incorporating me, a Year 13 resit student, into their classes. Pastoral and Head leadership from Mrs Krusche and Mr Perrotton was of a standard far beyond the care I've received before - their dedication to tailoring my timetable, teaching support and extracurricular academic ventures (including meeting my early UCAS deadline, applying and sitting various entrance exams, and providing support for me to intend my university interviews) has led to a huge increase in my own confidence, happiness and importantly academic performance."
"Harrison had a fantastic experience at Chase High, academically and socially. He always looked forward to going in, he had a lovely group of friends and a wonderful carer. His classmates fully accepted him and he enjoyed their company. The teachers went out of their way to ensure he reached his full potential. Harrison left Chase with GCSEs in Maths and English, BTECs in ICT, Media and Games Development. He actually had enough UCAS points to go to University, but chose to do another BTEC first, at college. Harrison would never have achieved such great results if he had remained in the special school.
He was lucky to have a carer who went beyond what was expected of her, to make sure that he pushed himself and achieved great results. All the staff at Chase, the office workers, the canteen staff, the teachers, the carers and the senior team all welcomed Harrison and continued fantastic support for the entire time he was there. He really did not want to leave."
